Taragarh Fort

Taragarh Fort was built in the 7th century by Ajaipal Chauhan. The legendary Taragarh Fort is reached after a one-and-a-half-hour climb beyond the Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra. The fort offers a scenic view of the entire city. The Fort was the site of the military activity during the Mughal period, and later used as a sanatorium by the British. The massive huge has a historical importance, It was the meeting point of the King Prithvi Raj Chauhan & It has six gates & a dargah.

See the gigantic Bhim Burj that holds one of the world's largest canons. The Taragarh Fort has a special place in the history of Ajmer. It was an important military hub during the Mughal reign in the region. This grand fort served as a sanatorium during the British domination in this region.

The Taragarh military fort was one of its kinds in the region. Tour Miran Saheb ki Dargah that is located within the fort premises. Miran Saheb was a loyal general who died a warrior's death while defending Taragarh during an enemy invasion.

The imposing Taragarh Fort is known for its intricate system of water harvesting system. There are several massive stone reservoirs that were used for water storage.
