Bundi Palace

The Bundi palace, built of locally quarried stone, presents one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture. Intricately carved brackets, pillars and balconies and sculpted elephants are used liberally. Of special interest here are the Diwan-I-Am, Hathi Pol and the Naubat Khana. The Bundi Palace is situated on the hillside adjacent to the Taragarh Fort and is notable for its lavish traditional murals and frescoes.

The palace is now converted into a museum which houses some finest Bundi murals. The Chitrashala (picture gallery) of the palace is open to the general public.

Chitrashala is a fascinating pavilion and a gallery of miniature murals embellish the palace. Elaborate colorful paintings on the walls depicts scenes from the 'Ragmala' and Raasleela' - the Radha-Krishna story.
