Calangute Beach On the shores of the Arabian Sea, under the shade of palm trees nestled the Queen of Beaches-Calangute. Calangute Beach is a massive stretch of 7 kms and is situated just 15 kms from Panaji. Calangute is Goa's busiest and most commercialized resort. Calangute beach symbolise Goa's reputation as a haven for beach and coastal splendour. Goans and tourists spend summers, bathing in the quiet solitude of the sea, sun and sand on this lovely beach. You can also enjoy some of the exiting water sports on this beach. The rainbow hued canvas of Calangute has welcomed everyone to it, always.
Anjuna Beach Anjuna Beach, 8-km west of Mapusa, is one of the most popular beaches of Goa. The main attractions of Anjuna Beach are the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion built in 1920 (flanked by octagonal towers and an attractive Mangalore tile-roof), the Mascarenhas Mansion, and the Chapora Fort. Anjuna Beach speaks volumes about its versatile magnificence. It was the haunt of the flower generation in the seventies-and is still popular with the cyber generation too. You can also overload your luggage with your shopping purchases at the famous Anjuna Market. Witness all this action that happens just 18 kms away from Panaji.
Dona Paula Beach The Dona Paula Beach offers an opportunity to the tourists to have a sunbath and enjoy water scootering and motor boat rides. The Beach is 7 km from Panjim. The Dona Paula beach is named after Dona Paula de Menzes, daughter of a viceroy (in colonial India), who threw herself off the cliff, when refused permission to marry a local fisherman, Gaspar Dias.
Vagator Beach Vagator Beach is an attractive little bay between rocky headlands with a series of small beaches with shady palms. The trademark of Goa is very well reflected in Vagator, which is one of the most beautiful of the soft-sand beaches that Goa is famous for. Vagator Beach is an ideal place for people with a small budget, yet offering limitless avenues for fun and frolic.
Baga Beach Baga Beach is part of a 30-km stretch of beach coastline along the west coast of Goa by the Arabian Sea, 10-km west of Mapusa, is basically an extension of Calangute beach. The beach begins at Fort Aguada continues as Sinquerim beach, then as Candolim Beach and merges into Calangute beach and then to Baga beach and then Anjuna Beach.
Candolim Beach Candolim beach is not too crowed so you can enjoy in solitude. There is little or no shelter close to the beach. There is good food and long and straight beach backed by scrub-covered dunes with little shelter. Candolim is the birth place of Abbe Faria, a Goan Freedom Fighter and the Father of Hypnotism. The beach is very popular among tourists.
